My Math Sucks
While explaining the types of questions to expect in the upcoming Math Quiz ...
Professor: So as we had already determined in class, would you be able to cross a 20 meter moat with many crocodiles with just two planks of 19 meteres each, without the use of any screws, binders, tapes or the such?
Whale & Class: YES!
Professor: What about a moat that is 40 meters in length and you have two planks of 38 meters each?
Whale & Class: *after 20 seconds of deliberation* No.
Professor: Hm... But lets see. 40 is two times of 20 and 38 is two times of 19. So yes you may
Whale & Class: O yea.. Hm...
Professor: Hm.. Two times is difficult, yea? What if I made it a 200 meter moat and two planks of 190 meters each. Can you do the question then?
Whale & Class: YES!
Professor: O..ok. So you can deal with 10 times. Its easier, ye? Ok. No two times in the exams. We'd make it 10 times.
Whale: PHEW
